From Fleece to Finish
The same four stages, in order, for every sweater we make.
Raw fleece, sorted by hand
Merino and alpaca fleece arrives ungraded from two highland farms and is sorted by fiber length before it's ever spun.
Carded and spun undyed
We skip dye baths wherever the fiber's natural color works — less water used, and the wool keeps its own lanolin softness.
Loomed on flatbed machines
Panels are knit flat at 12-gauge, then steamed and blocked to their final measurements before any seaming begins.
Linked, not overlocked
Shoulders and side seams are hand-linked stitch to stitch — slower, but it keeps the seam from ever bulking or curling.
